IntraAct is a highly effective teaching method based on cognitive neuroscience, developed in Germany by psychologists Fritz Jansen and Uta Streit. With IntraAct, children can learn to read and write quickly and efficiently, as the method respects how the brain actually learns.
IntraAct puts into practice what the National Reading Panel (NRP), commissioned by the U.S. Congress, identified in a landmark meta-analysis as the “Big Five” of evidence-based successful reading instruction: phonemic awareness, systematic phonics, reading fluency, vocabulary development, and reading comprehension.
Karen, teacher of the Fe y Alegria School #46, Iquitos, Peru, on August 21st, 2025.
We are consistently amazed at how quickly our students learn to read with IntraAct. After just about four months, 80% of them master the core principle of reading — even if a few letters are still missing — and can fluently read words and sentences within their known letter set.
By the end of the school year, 80% of the class are able to fluently read and write using the full set of letters. In official government assessments, our partner communities have achieved literacy rates that are up to twice as high as before introducing IntraAct, in half the time. Teachers working with IntraAct are overwhelmingly likely to recommend the method — our Net Promoter Score (NPS) confirms this: 87.
